If you were to ask me about the number one component missing in our society today both in business and in relationships, I would have say it is “communication”. Communication is quickly becoming a lost art, obsolete and rarely something anyone is willing or capable of engaging in.

In business, I find those who understand the art of communication are the high performers, the people with the most sales or with the highest performing team. The great communicators possesss a position in their industry, a place of honor and recognition admired by others.

And what about relationships, from the intimacy of a couple to the raising of children and the ability to talk to anyone in any situation, communication would change this world and our experiences in relationships.

With our world of text messages, email and instant messages, we have lost what counts most. We are living in a world of Cliche’s. Conversation has become more of “What’s Up”, “How you doing?” and my favorite…. “Whatever!”. Our children do not know how to communicate to each other or to us and our Relationships suffer from the lack of real communication.

And here is a Newsflash for you… Talking is Not Communicating. Small talk is an art as well, but where some people use it none at all, others abuse it. Some people just jump right to the big issues, opinions and miss an opportunity to enjoy the intimacy of communication.

Intimacy is important in all relationships. Learning more about the people you encounter and sharing your deepest feelings and thoughts with the person you love most in your life. It is all intimacy and true intimacy can only spring from good communication.

Are you engaging the people you meet? Are you looking them in the eye when they speak to you, are you taking the opportunity to know who they are and what they think and feel? Are you shaking their hands with strength and confidence?

And ladies, let me tell you something very important, a handshake is NOT A “MAN THING”. A hand shake should be an opportunity to share a bit of yourself with the person you meet. It is an opportunity for them to become curious about you, who you are and what you have to share with them. Communication begins with simple encounters such as handshakes. Do it with power and conviction.

Personally, when I meet someone, I extend my hand with authority and confidence. If they return (men or women), with a weak, partial hand or a namby pamby wrist shake, I have to work very hard to find substance in them. They have missed an opportunity to make a good first impression with me. Communication begins with the first moment of contact.

I challenge you to take a look at your skills in the area of communication. Evaluate for yourself why you may not be communicating with the people in your life. Lack of confidence, fear of saying the wrong thing or standing out in a crowd could be the culprit. Put yourself out there, you just might find it really does not hurt at all but on the other hand, will greatly improve your business, your personal life and your own self confidence.

Once you make an improvement in your communication skills, your life will change dramatically! You will be leaving the people in your life with a small piece of youself every day.

To your unstoppable success…

So often, we become a person we do not recognize. Regardless of the reasons, we can easily slip into a version of ourself that is anything but familiar.

As you move from one era of your life to the next, it is very important to determine who you are in the new era. Take time to identify your passions, your true beliefs (not what others want you to believe), how you want others to see you, your inner thoughts , your source of energy and your personal goals. These are a reflection of who you are.

From my personal experience, having been in a wonderful marriage and then suddenly losing my husband, I was thrown into the unknown. Even though my husband is still a vital part of my life, I am no longer that person and no longer part of a couple. The person I was in marriage is not the same person I am today. Not that either person is better than the other, just different in many ways.

Right before my husband died, he passed on very powerful wisdom. He said “spread your wings and be the person you put on hold while being my wife”? At first, I thought I had not put anything on hold, his wife, is what I wanted to be. But in time, I have realized there were many passions that were no longer part of my life during marriage because I replaced them with “us” passions.

Now I am getting back to who I am as an individual. I am again strong, athletic, a dancer, a daredevil who loves to try new things and new adventures. I have even recently tried skydiving. Funny how that one popped in. My husband always laughed that desire right off, one of the few things he would never support me in. But it is something I have always wanted to do, so why not now?

The point is… It is not necessary to always be the same person. It is okay to decide who you are and then create that person from within. It brings you new hope, new energy and new drive. It puts a freshness into every day and provides an opportunity for you to create the person you truly are inside and it gives you a strong foundation for letting go of the past.

Regardless of the situation you are in, whatever loss or whatever struggle. Find your true self. Honor yourself with integrity and zeal for life. You deserve to be the person you truly are and live your life with purpose and absolute intention.

To your unstoppable success…

All highly accomplished people have one inherent trait in common, they have found and developed the heart of greatness within. It is something we are all born with, but few people identify and develop it. We are a magnificent species and each of us is great, but so few of us know it or are able to accept it.

Most people go through life as if they have an anchor around their necks, allowing everything they encounter and experience to pull them down. Instead, because we are magnificent, we should live life to the fullest and instead of an anchor around our necks, we should live as if we have a buoy lifting us higher and higher.

So, why is this? The answer is a simple one, but one that many people can not see.

We have allowed ourselves to accept mediocrity instead of choosing greatness. The world lives in a sea of resistance. This resistance is like an anchor, it holds us back from our true selves. This resistence has many faces, ranging from fear, procrastination, poverty consciousness, rejection, vulnerability, low self esteem and many more. In other words, we have internal language keeping us from living a magnificent life.

The things holding us back are the things we suppress inside. Sometimes this self language comes from things we learned as children, even though they were never intended to be carried into adulthood. Things such as fear often come from our parents and family. Our feelings and thoughts toward success and money, for example, are the exact things keeping us from having more money and more success.

Finding your own greatness is a journey. It requires searching deep inside of yourself and identifying your blocks. To do this, you must listen to and control your thoughts. What are you thinking? Are your thoughts in alignment with your goals? If you are looking to achieve a great goal, then you must identify the internal thoughts that are not congruent with the goal.

Look inside of yourself. Do you have a fear of disappointing someone, or possibly even yourself? It takes tremendous courage to take a look deep inside of ourselves. But here is the payoff…
Everyone has the ability to develop the Heart of Success. Sadly, only about 10% actually do. Change comes from people who have the courage to make the journey. It takes a great deal of courage to make this journey. But when the decision is made to do it, the journey is actually a very short one.

Determine today if your goals are important to you. If they are, then start today to have them. Look deep inside yourself and find what is holding you back. Now here is the best part.

Once you identify your blocks, those things holding you back, you DO NOT have to “fix” them, you only have to know what they are. Because once you know what your blocks are, you are aware and can overcome them.

Once you have done this, you will step up into your own greatness. You will become the person you truly are and live a life of success.

This is entirely in your control. It takes a decision and some action but it is not a difficult thing, afterall, the greatness is already within you. You have to reach in and pull it out.

your unstoppable sucess…

I hear it every day, people really want to get out of their jobs “Fire their Boss” and be free.

Time and again I hear it:

“I want to get out of the Rat Race”, “I want more time with my family”, “I want a more fulfilling life”, “I want more money”
…. I want, I want, I want…

My answer, is Just Do It! Just Fire the Boss, get out of the rat race, have more time with your family, lead a more fulfilling life and have more money.

If you think it is not that simple, then I am compelled to graciously inform you “You Are Wrong”.

I do not claim to have the magic pixie dust answer for every problem or to have a unique solution to every challenge. What I do claim is this; the secret to success at any level and any activity lies within it’s simplicity.

Here are a few Simplicity guidelines to assist you in laying the groundwork to Fire the Boss.

1) Simplicity of a Vision – Knowing what your destiny is, knowing the end result of a journey, knowing the outcome is a simple process, however, digging deep within yourself to find your purpose and your vision may take some effort. But once the vision is created, the results lie within simplicity.

2) Simplicity of decision – before you can have or accomplish anything, you must make a decision to do so. This is a very deep one-sided commitment to your vision. It is a “My Only Choice is Success” decision. This level of decision removes any chance of failure from the equation. Once the deep seated decision takes hold and you are driven by the vision then you are capable of taking a simplistic approach to the next step.

3) Simplicity of Action – this can be a tricky piece. Most people make the mistake of thinking massive action, 24 hour action, life consuming action is what is necessary. However, the action which is driven by the vision and the decision would be focused action. Simple and consistent steps moving you steadily toward your goal or your vision.

4) Simplicity of results – keeping things simple allows the Universe to put things into motion toward your end or your vision. When we over complicate life, it becomes muffled and hap-hazard.

Simplicity is very powerful but should not be confused with laziness. By the simplicity, I mean to stay focused. Anything can be accomplished when you are focused and working continually toward a goal.

This is why so many Entrepreneurs are able to fire their bosses very quickly, because they have created their vision and stayed on a simple forward moving course. It is also the underlying reason successful people are able to make decisions very quickly, simply because they are driven by their vision and focused like a laser beam on their action.

Give it some thought, start to dig inside yourself to find your vision and then take the simple approach. But I must warn you in advance; when you do this, more than you could have ever imagined will start coming your way.

To your success…

Opportunities frequently come our way that are so out of the ordinary, our gut reaction is to just run in the other direction. As a child, I grew up in a very simple and meager situation. Our parents did not encourage us to step up and try new things. Everything was compared to what the family had “always done” in the past.

I was a rogue. Always bucking the system and never falling in line with my older brothers and sisters. In our home, we were not encouraged to complete our education, after all, no one else in the family did , and they were just fine!

But I had huge dreams and visions for my life, so at the tender age of 16, I decided to step out on my own. Yes, I left home and started taking care of myself. I put myself through school and learned to make my way in life, and what an adventure it has been.

Later, I went to work for an airline and had incredible opportunities to work overseas in various countries. I traveled all over the world, normally alone and loved it. It really never occurred to me at the time to be afraid of doing this. What an opportunity I had and I was very grateful for it.

So what is the point? You can not make decisions in life based on fear. Don’t let fear hold you back. Great things are never accomplished through fear. Yes, I was sometimes afraid (boy, the stories I can tell) but what I gained from that opportunity has led me to take on some major tasks in my life and also helped me to become the powerful business person I am today.

We are all in total control of our own destiny and the level of success we enjoy. Of course there are at times some factors we have no control over, but we can not worry about those factors. Instead, concentrate on the things you can control. You CAN control your own thinking and your actions. The power is not in the “situation” but instead in how you handle the situation.

Fear is the number one factor stopping people from getting what they want in life. Always be open to new ideas and opportunities. To have anything worth having, you must take a chance.

Many people talk about being successful, but few truly are. Be a “doer.” Make a decision to have what you want and fearlessly walk forward toward your goal. Live your life open and ready to receive. Your destiny is entirely in your hands.

Wallace Wattles and Napoleon Hill refer to as the competitive plane, David R. Hawkins refers to it as Power vs Force. Regardless of how you refer to it, IT is stressing people out because they are not seeing the results they are working for.

I personally prefer to operate my business from a place of service. Why is this so important? I have frequently heard a quote but unable to tell you where it originated, but it is the basis for my business. “If you help enough people in the World get what they want, you will surely get what you want.” This is what a place of service is all about. Personally, I have some enormous goals, but I realize those goals are only attainable if I assist a lot of people in reaching their goals.

If you are not having success in your business, stop and ask yourself;
1) Am I looking for people who will buy my product or people who have a need for my product?
2) Am I forcing them to buy or am I providing them a method to resolve the need they have?
3) Am I servicing them by eliminating their pain or just servicing my self by making the sale?

Most people have pain in their lives. I am not talking about the physical kind, but the emotional kind. The kind that happens when people are stuck or stressed or just not where they thought they should be.

Are you operating your business by assisting these people in achieving their goals and eliminating their pain?

Since my primary product is a Life Achievement program, I look for people who are frustrated with their lack of achievement. But that is just my target group. Instead of just selling them a product which has a stand alone untold value, I give them much more. I show them how to put the pain behind them, how to establish some powerful goals and how to place themselves into a mode of success. I assist them in making choices to change where they are going, by accepting the choices they have made previously.

My product then is a logical next step, but regardless of rather they purchase or not, I feel I have helped them because I gave them much more than they expected. I gave them a part of me and my expertise. You have to be willing to give them much more than they expect. You have to ensure they are purchasing your assistance and guidance.

By doing this, you build trust and a long term relationship. If you do not have the experience in your product or company, assist them by providing them the support of someone who does have the expertise. Work with your own mentor to assist you in mentoring your customers. If you are unable to demonstrate your own knowledge, borrow the knowledge of a leader in your company.

It is also very important for you to demonstrate your belief and faith in your product and company. Never expect someone to purchase something you do not have the confidence to purchase yourself. As my mentor pointed out to me once “Never buy a Rolls from someone who drives a VW“. You must give them your faith in the product in order for them to have faith as well.

Never focus on the Sale! Focus on the service you can give. Just go out and work toward enriching lives and the experiences they have in their lives. When you focus on the sale, you may occasionally experience some success, but it will never be explosive and continual.

By focusing on service, you are filling a funnel with relationships. Eventually, that funnel will begin to drip drip drip sales from the bottom. People who want to do business with you, people who trust you and people who believe you can relieve their pain.

This is the only way to conduct business and the only way to reach the top!

When great explorers found new territory, land, islands or even the moon, the first celebration always involved the planting of their flag. By this act, not only did they claim “the new land” but they also made the claim “I assume responsibility for the ownership of this new land”.

Have you planted your flag with your business?

Have you claimed your business as your own?

Have you claimed your business as your responsibility?

Have your claimed the success of your business?

Have you actually gotten excited about the unlimited possibilities of your business?

All are very important questions. Too often, we start businesses, especially from home and then never make the claim of success. Would an explorer have just passed by a beautiful uninhabited land and kept going, looking for the perfect land, a land with no challenges, no obstacles, looking only for a land with abundant life but no effort and no belief in the new land?

This is what new business owners do everyday. No wonder more than 80% of new home based businesses fail.

There are many opportunities available to the home marketer and a very large majority of those are absolutely legitimate and offer the opportunity to achieve dreams. The underlying factor of achieving success and experiencing failure must lie on the shoulders of the marketer.

As Wallace Wattles points out in the amazing book “The Science of Getting Rich”, two people can do the same thing, in the same place, but one succeeds and the other fails. Only because the successful person “did things in a certain way”. Or as Napoleon Hill suggests in his amazing book “Think and Grow Rich”, One must operate a business as an entrepreneur instead of an employee.

When it comes to your business, the time is “NOW”. Do not wait for the perfect time, the perfect person, or the perfect teacher. Waiting will destroy your business and it will never succeed.

The time is now to take action. Be the leader in your business. Apply the “certain way” to your business and of course your attitude. That “certain way” separates leaders from followers.

In order to succeed at any business, you must be the leader. Leaders are irresistibly attractive to other leaders. When you fail to be the leader, you are therefore the victim. The victim gives away all power, the victim will never succeed because no one who is looking to succeed will associate or give any authority to the word of a victim.

Leaders look to work with other leaders. So plant your flag. Claim success for your business. Read these two powerful books and apply the principles in them now, not later. Be the outrageously successful leader you truly are.

I spend my days working with people to teach them how to make money and every day, take a serious look at the mindset people operate from. It is very interesting to see the result of someones life as it compares to their mindset. Simply said, I can only teach people to make what they think they are worth.

First of all, let me clarify. Living a prosperous life is not really about the money, it is about the lifestyle the money provides. It is about the freedom, the choices and the options available to those who create their lives.

But the greatest challenge to me is helping people to see that the amount of money they earn is directly relevant to how much they think they are worth. I talk with people everyday who see themselves in a very small place, the challenge is to move them to see the bigger picture.

What does this mean? Let’s do a very simple exercise. Take out a piece of paper and without much thought, simply write down on that paper how much money you want to make this year. What did you write? Was it $1 Million, $500,000 or maybe even $50,000?

Whatever you wrote on that piece of paper is what you are worth (today)! Value is a perception only, so if you have the perception that you are worth $50,000 then I am sorry to inform you, that is all you are worth (at this time). But you may say… sure, but it is June and the year is half over, or, I don’t know how to make more right now, my current salary is this or this or that or whatever!

The fact is, 90% of the result is the mindset. So if you see yourself making only $50,000 then you have the mindset of making that amount. On the other hand, if you see yourself making $500,000 this year, then that is the mindset you are working with and your chances of making that amount dramatically increase.

I have said in many of my articles that making a Million Dollars is the easiest thing in the world, the hard part is DECIDING to make a Million Dollars. It is one thing to WANT a Million, but if you have not decided to make it, then you are just in a state of want and will never move past that with your current thinking. Your current thinking is responsible for where you are today, in order to move beyond where you are, you absolutely must change your thinking.

Another very important point is this…

It is not your job to figure out HOW to make the amount of money you desire, it is your job to DECIDE what that amount is. Once you make a decision, which involves a fever of desire and an unstoppable mindset, then the method will come to you, but you must DECIDE first.

Bottom line, as I said, I work with people to show them how to use a simple system to achieve financial success. But, if a person has the mindset of $50,000 then they will take this Million Dollar opportunity and make $50,000 with it. On the other hand, if they have a Million Dollar mindset and desire, they will make the Million. The other person will literally leave $950,000 on the table for someone else to make and then complain that the opportunity is not worth more than $50,000.

Think about it very seriously. What is your financial mindset? Whatever it is, is what you are worth. Let’s talk later about how to increase that mindset.
